The whole idea of creating a business for yourself can be overwhelming.

But right now isn’t the time to be bogged down in details, it can be a motivation killer.

Right now, I’m just here to break down the numbers and teach you some motivational math.

It doesn’t matter if you have or haven’t figured out what you want to do to make money, this is just about making earning money feel easier.

So here’s what I do.

I think about what I really need to earn a in a month and then break that down into how much I actually need to make daily in order to have my essentials covered and feel comfortable.

My basics would be $1250 and that’s just because I’m really good at living on a low income and I only rent a room.

But, just for example, let’s see what this would break down to if you needed $2500 a month ($30,000 annually).

So let’s do that.

Break down that $2500 into what you would need to make per day. So let’s say an average month is 30 days, so  we divide $2500 by 30.

And that gives us $83 dollars a day. That’s $3 dollars per hour (24/hrs).

The best thing about the internet is you could easily be making money in the middle of the night.

But, let’s say that you only actually need what I do, which is $1250.

So let’s break down that $1250 by also dividing it by 30.

That’s only $41 per day and when you turn that into hourly (24/hr), that is $1.64 per hour.

See, that’s the other amazing thing about the internet.

It doesn’t sleep.

You aren’t limited to making money in just 8-hour time frames out of that 24-hour day. Heck, the internet doesn’t even know what a weekend is…

You can make money, every single hour of every single day.

Making your monetary goals into little bite-sized amounts… it’s amazingly refreshing!

I knew from my early 20’s how easily money could be made on the internet.

During that time, I was making a steady amount of $18 to $20 bucks a day but nothing — I repeat — nothing will ever make me forget when I made $500 in one day, while I was out doing an odd job also making money, and the next day brought in another $300.

That feeling is addictive.

What money means to us who have chronic illnesses means safety, it means living a little easier, breathing better and generally feeling less stressed and therefore, in many ways healthier.

If you want to know what I was doing at the time, I was using Google Adsense and I was making money mostly from just ads, but what made me that quick money was affiliate marketing. What made that possible was an email list. It wasn’t even mine, it belonged to someone else.

I later learned that I was not allowed to promote an affiliate offer on someone else’s list, but I was allowed to keep the money I made. This just taught me, I needed an email list, because holy schnitzel, it really works!
